Hot and dry for a while

The warmest and driest conditions so far of the season start today.

High temperatures will be well into the 80s today with lots of sunshine. Some locations will break into the 90s, especially through northern Wyoming.

Isolated high elevation storms especially for the mountains of northern Wyoming could develop during the afternoon and evening.

Relative humidity numbers will continue to slip over the next few days, as temperatures heat up and conditions dry out.

Highs on Friday climb into the 90s and could even reach the triple digits in a few locations. That will be the hottest day in the short-term.

Highs will stay in the 80s and 90s through the weekend, with lows in the 50s and 60s. Expect the dry and hot pattern to continue into next week.

Billings forecast:

Thursday… Sunny and hot with a high near 89. Just a light breeze.

Thursday night… Mostly cloudy with a low of about 64.

Friday… Sunny and hot with a high that may reach 100. Westerly breeze 5 to 10 mph.
