Hot and dry weather coming soon
Celebrations will be a little on the cool side for the Fourth of July. But the heat will follow.
With highs mainly in the 70s Wednesday, temperatures will be running about 5 to 10° cooler than average for this time of the year. But with sunshine and a light wind, condition should be pleasant.
Be aware that winds will be stronger in northeastern Montana and could cost some choppy waters on Fort Peck Reservoir.
For Thursday, temperatures warm well into the 80s to low 90s and mostly dry conditions continue.
By Friday, highs are hitting the 90s to triple digits and humidity numbers will start to drop.
Temperatures will remain near or warmer than average next week with little chance of rainfall.
Billings forecast:
Independence Day… Sunny with a high near 78. Light East breeze.
Wednesday night… Mostly clear with temperatures at about 56 for the low.
Thursday… Sunny and hotter with a high around 90.
