Humid and hot day has potential for severe storms
A hot and humid day turns into a chance of strong to severe storms.
Despite high humidity, temperatures move well into the 90s later Tuesday afternoon. Expect plenty of sunshine to start, with increasing clouds in the afternoon.
Scattered thunderstorms will develop along a cold front that moved through the area during the afternoon and early evening. Strong wind gusts will be the main threat, with areas of hail and heavy rain also possible.
Thunderstorms will end late Tuesday evening, with much cooler and mainly dry conditions developing.
Expect highs mainly in the 80s with sunshine on Wednesday and Thursday.
The heat returns Friday, with high temperatures moving up well in the 90s.

Tuesday… Mostly sunny to start with increasing afternoon clouds. A high near 98. Southwest wind 5 to 15 miles an hour. A chance of thunderstorms develops in the afternoon, and some could be severe.
Tuesday night… A chance of thunderstorms during the evening hours. Some storms could be severe with damaging winds being the biggest threat. Some storms could have large hail or heavy rain. Clearing overnight, with a low near 64.
Wednesday… Sunshine with a high near 85. A light wind shifts from the West to the North during the afternoon.
